Local Places to Go

Enjoy the Forest and go for a walk

We are lucky enough to live close to Epping Forest, sometimes we overlook how fascinating this is for our children and usually when we make the effort we enjoy it too.

There are also the fields behind the Village Hall that you can walk through, and these can be great fun for the little ones running around not having to worry about roads and cars. It doesn’t cost anything either to go for a walk, which is always a benefit and it is good exercise for everybody. My children as toddler’s loved exploring and collecting different treasures to bring home. You can point out all the big leaves or different coloured plants or flowers.

Take a bag or a pot along, you can always collect a big leaf and a small leaf to bring home, or a big and small stick. This is a great way to encourage learning the differences in size. If you are brave enough, you can look for bugs under rocks.
