Keep dogs on leads near livestock
Essex Police rural engagement officers are asking anyone who walks their dogs in the countryside to keep their pets on leads near livestock.
Attacks on livestock across Essex have often been caused by dogs being walked off-lead or which may have escaped from insecure gardens from nearby properties.
With the lighter nights and nicer weather, people take to our countryside to enjoy a dog walk but there have been an increase in incidents where dogs have attacked sheep, cows and other domesticated animals.
Avoid those burglars
Essex Police provide a range of information on their website regarding scams and how to keep your valuables safe.
Here are a few of their tips:-
- Don't leave packaging from expensive items outside your door.
- Burglars often look for homes with windows or doors left open.
- Sheds and garages are often vulnerable as they are not secure.
- Burglars are aware of the times when someone is expected to be away from home such as during the school run or school holidays.
- Be careful what you put on social media about being on holiday.
Share your views on forms regarding waste collection
Epping Forest District Council are asking for feedback from anybody who has used on of their forms to report a missed waste collection, or to apply for a special collection or even to report a missing or damaged bin.
They are asking that you complete a short survey to share your feedback on these forms.
